Turn Your Liposuction Into a Comprehensive Makeover

4 Minute Read:

Many individuals seek liposuction to remove stubborn fat from one or more problematic areas, such as the abs, thighs, hips, or buttocks. Fortunately, this versatile fat-reduction technique allows you to sculpt several areas at the same time.

Liposuction can also be part of a multi-step treatment plan that includes both surgical and non-surgical procedures.

There are many ways to approach a comprehensive liposuction makeover, and the following options can help you achieve the best results.

6 Body Sculpting Procedures to Transform Your Body

The following five body recontouring methods can be performed to remove stubborn fat and completely reshape your body.

1. Liposuction

The first step is conventional liposuction. While it’s considered a surgical procedure, liposuction is far less invasive than most cosmetic surgeries, leaving only tiny scars that fade over time and typically become undetectable.

Generally performed under general anesthesia (particularly when combined with other body contouring options), liposuction uses suction and a variety of techniques to loosen and remove pockets of fat in the following areas:

  • Chin
  • Abdominals
  • Arms
  • Back
  • Flanks
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Buttocks

While not as extensive as a tummy tuck, recovery from liposuction can last up to two weeks and requires wearing a compression garment for about six.

You will see changes in the treated area(s) as soon as the swelling subsides, but it can take a few months before your final liposuction results are seen.

Depending on the number of areas lipo is used for during surgery, your plastic surgeon may be able to add some lifting procedures.

2. truSculpt®

For patients looking to reduce fat without surgery, truSculpt® may be an option. This non-surgical device uses radiofrequency energy to heat and destroy unwanted fat cells in the abdomen, thighs, arms, buttocks, and more.

Patients can often see up to a 24% reduction of fat in the treated areas and can experience some skin tightening. What’s better is that this treatment is highly tolerable, results in little to no downtime, and has short treatment times.

3. Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

If flabby arms are a problem for you, brachioplasty may be the answer. During liposuction, unwanted fat is removed from the upper arm, often leaving loose skin and tissue.

Your surgeon will address these issues by recontouring the underlying tissue and removing the excess skin for firmer, more youthful-appearing arms.

An arm lift will make you feel better about your body and allow you to wear sleeveless or strapless clothing with confidence.

While you may have limited use of your arms for the first several days and need to wear a compression garment for up to six weeks, recovery from an arm lift should be easy to manage.

4. Thigh Lift

It’s common for both inner and outer thighs to develop diet-resistant fat and sagging skin.

After liposuction removes unwanted fat in this area, a thigh lift will recontour tissue and trim away excess skin for firmer and nicely shaped inner and outer thighs as well as a well-defined buttock contour.

You can choose from an inner (medial) and outer (lateral) thigh lift or both, but while each of these procedures is similar, they require different incisions.

During recovery, you can expect to experience some swelling, bruising, and tenderness that can be controlled with prescription pain medication. You must also wear a compression garment for the first month after surgery.

5. CoolSculpting®

Once the major issues like excess fat and loose skin are addressed, you can opt to treat less significant problems like small residual pockets of fat on the arms, abdomen, back, and thighs with CoolSculpting®

This effective non-surgical fat-reducing treatment offers substantial benefits with none of the following:

  • Anesthesia
  • Incisions
  • Pain
  • Downtime

While your final CoolSculpting® results are not immediate, most patients report fat reduction of 20% to 25% in the treated areas after four months.

6. EMSCULPT®

Once excess fat is removed, and sagging skin tightened, your body can be recontoured further with EMSCULPT® using electromagnetic energy to increase muscle definition.

After being placed on the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks, the EMSCULPT® device delivers high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM®) pulses that cause powerful but painless muscle contractions.

These contractions are far more powerful than those achieved during a regular workout and can remodel deep tissue, increase metabolism, destroy fat cells, and define muscles much faster than exercise alone without:

  • Surgery
  • Anesthesia
  • Pain
  • Downtime

EMSCULPT® is designed to restore a more youthful and fit-looking body and can be the final step of your physical transformation
